Chinese Physical Geography
- The Yellow River valley, is encompassed around the Huang He (yellow) river.
- Accompanying the Yellow River is the Yangzte River. These two rivers provide a perfect environment for agricultural and civil development. The environment is what allowed for the Chinese civilization to develope faster than any other civilization.
- One negative of the environment is that it is surrounded by many mountain ranges and plains areas.
- This disadvantage limits trade and travel, limiting the Chinese Civilization's potential for trade and economic development.
- However, later, the Silk road would change all of that.
- Another negative is that China is surrounded by mountain ranges and river valleys, which make it hard for people to travel and trade their crops and live stocks, so they have to mostly rely on their food.
Chinese Government
- China was ruled by a king who resided in the city of Anyang.
- He split up the region in to different territories, each of which were ruled by different warlords.
- They were the leaders of their own respective regions, and had full power to do almost anything.
- They were, however, under constant pressure from the king, who demanded his wants for each territory be met.
- We can speculate that the reason the king did this was because of the vast area of land he was ruling.
